CMA CGM and AUT launch a BBA in Transport & Logistics Management

3CMA CGM, the third largest shipping group worldwide and American University of Technology signed a memorandum of understanding on July 8 to launch an undergraduate program specialized in Transport and Logistics Management.The creation of this new maritime program meets the growing needs for skills in the transportation industry and more particularly, in the CMA CGM Group and aims to provide AUT students with specific training in the various shipping professions."This is a first for CMA CGM in Lebanon. This agreement with AUT falls within the Group’s global training and academic partnership.

CMA CGM has already created a specialized Masters in International Maritime Management in partnership with the EUROMED School in Marseille and the Ecole Nationale de la Marine Marchande. On the other hand, we have signed partnerships with the University of Shanghai IFCIM and in Alexandria, Egypt "said Elie ZEENNY, Vice President Group Agency Network during the press conference held at Le Gabriel.

“This new program falls within the AUT’s teaching philosophy” stated Marcel Hinain, Director of External Relations and Development at AUT. “This agreement is first of its kind in the transport and shipping field in Lebanon, and we are much honored to sign this agreement with a giant in the field such as CMA-CGM, whose roots are firmly established in Lebanon. Our mission is to provide the best knowledge to our students; with this new program, we hope to open new horizons to them. We are even more proud as our partner in education for the BBA in Transport and Logistics Management is one of the best universities specialized in this field and counts 2 Nobel prize winners in economics who will teach our students.”
This agreement was signed in the presence of CMA CGM officials: Mr. Elie ZEENNY, Mr. Georges Kurban as well as the Presdient of the Board of Trustees at AUT, Mrs Ghada Hinain, trustees of AUT and the University senior staff.
The signing ceremony was attended by several personalities from the academic and maritime fields as well as members of the Lebanese press.
