Who is a Graphic Designer?

A graphic designer is someone who creates visual concepts to communicate ideas that inspire, inform, or captivate consumers. It involves creativity to achieve certain objectives, with the use of images, symbols or words.

What do graphic designers do?

Graphic designers combine art and technology to creatively communicate ideas through images and the layout of printed pages. They work with both text and images and may use a variety of design elements to give a company a unique identity. They develop the overall layout and production design for advertisements, brochures, magazines, logos, books, posters, billboards, labels, to name a few.

What do I learn in Graphic Design as a major at AUT?

AUT curriculum of 102 credits will take you through the design process from beginning to end. The Graphic Design major provides you with design theory, software tools, and current practices in graphic design.
