The Department of Computer Science and Information Technology at the American University of Technology (AUT), invites applications for a part-time or adjunct faculty position in the areas of Computer Science and Information Technology.
Areas of expertise needed include Programming (in various languages), Web programming, Software engineering, Computer organization, Database systems, Mobile Computing, Game Programming, Information Technology, Information Security, and Network Security.
The successful candidate will teach Computer Science or Information Technology courses contingent to the needs of the institution. Other essential duties include: maintaining office hours; preparing lesson plans, lectures, and other course materials such as quizzes and exams; and submission of final grades and attendance reports.
Candidates should have as minimum a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or closely related field and a minimum of two years teaching experience in similar university environment. A PhD degree is preferable.
Duration of the position:
One semester and may be renewed on a semester by semester basis.

The Department of Computer Science and Information Technology at the Faculty of Applied Sciences offers both BS and MS degrees in Computer Science and BS degree in Information Technology. The Department is student-centered and is dedicated to excellence in teaching.

QUALIFICATIONS: Applicant must hold an earned doctorate degree in a discipline of Computer Science, Information Technology or closely related field.
In addition, the candidate must demonstrate a commitment to academic excellence, and evidence of strong interpersonal and administrative skills. The successful candidate has a proven record of successful teaching and curriculum development; creativity and academic integrity; evidence of significant scholarly activity; experience with accreditation; a strong commitment to and concern for student academic achievement and retention; excellent oral and written communication skills; leadership ability which promotes unity among faculty in the areas of Computer Science and Information Technology; and the leads the department with vision.
RESPONSIBILITIES: The chair will supervise and evaluate Computer Science faculty, including graduate faculty; provide oversight of undergraduate and graduate programs; teach classes in Computer Science and/or Information Technology; advise students; prepare teaching schedules and faculty workloads; perform periodic faculty appraisals; provide leadership in the instructional program and in curricular innovation directed toward an expansion of course and degree offerings; maintain an aggressive recruitment and retention program; work with Dean to plan enrichment programs, such as lecture series, seminars and workshops, for majors and other interested students, faculty, and members of the community; and other responsibilities as determined in consultation with the Dean of the Faculty of Applied Sciences.
SALARY AND RANK: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
