Keeping to the tradition started 12 years ago, AUT celebrated World Diabetes Day on 14 November with a panel of scientists that exposed the latest research results to an audience made up of medical doctors, nutrition students and people interested in knowing more about diabetes.
Also in attendance was Member of Parliament and AUT Trustee Ihab Mattar , the Governor of District 351 of Lions Clubs Joseph Abou Khalil, members of several Lions clubs, AUT president Ghada Hinain and AUT senior staff.
The chair of Nutrition Paola Labaky introduced the conference aim and showed a video of past activities of the Nutrition department related to diabetes and health then introduced the speakers who took turn to expose their latest research results.
Moderator Jessica Maalouf intervened after each speaker to ask questions destined to further explain the points developed
Speakers Rebecca Labaki, Dr. Odette Matar and Dr. Cosette Khoury (she intervened from Dubai through zoom) were later offered certificates of appreciation for their participation.
A buffet offered by Diet Delights concluded the event before AUT president and Lions Governor lit the AUT administration in blue which is the color that symbolizes diabetes.
