The Maritime Science and Technology Institute (MARSATI) in Batroun welcomed students from the Public Relations and Journalism departments at the American University of Technology (AUT). The event was attended by AUT’s North Lebanon Director, Dr. Najib Gerges, Public Relations Officer Salim Ayoub, Recruitment Director Tony Moukheiber, and Media Program Coordinator Aya Younes.
The institute’s director, Maritime Goodwill Ambassador Dr. Estefan Assal, who is also an AUT alumnus, gave a welcoming speech. He stressed the importance of collaboration between educational institutions and specialized institutes to help students build their knowledge and skills. He also highlighted MARSATI’s role in training qualified professionals for the maritime sector and spoke about local and international agreements the institute has signed. These agreements aim to improve the maritime field and offer students training and job opportunities.
During the visit, discussions focused on potential future partnerships between MARSATI and AUT, especially in Transport Management and Logistics, as well as related fields. The goal is to create joint academic programs that prepare students to meet the needs of the local and global job markets.
