On January 31, the American University of Technology hosted a highly successful Open Doors event, attracting students from 21 different schools to experience what life is like at our university. The event provided an exciting and interactive opportunity for prospective students to engage with various academic programs and hands-on activities while exploring the university’s vibrant campus environment.
A Day of Exploration and Engagement
The event featured a wide range of interactive workshops, live demonstrations, and hands-on activities across multiple fields of study. Attendees had the chance to participate in engaging challenges related to technology, business, design, journalism, and more. Students could try their hand at creating mobile apps, solving coding puzzles, and engaging with virtual reality simulations, providing a real taste of the innovative learning environment at AUT.
For those interested in business and management, the event included interactive case studies and discussions that showcased real-world challenges and career opportunities in these fields. Participants also had the chance to interact with faculty, advisory board members (such as Prunelle, Aramex, Diet Delights, Indevco, Embassy Freight, and Feer McQueen), and current students, learning about the academic programs and support available to students throughout their journey at our university.
Creative and Practical Experiences
The event also highlighted the creativity and practical skills developed in various departments, such as interior design, graphic design, and nutrition. Attendees explored creative exercises like designing posters, building architectural models, and experimenting with food science in lab demonstrations. In addition, hands-on fashion making and jewelry design activities allowed students to explore their artistic abilities.
Sports and Wellness Activities
For those looking for physical activities, the event offered exciting opportunities to participate in street basketball, volleyball, and parkour demonstrations, highlighting the university’s commitment to fostering both intellectual and physical well-being.
Connecting with the Future
Overall, the Open Doors event provided a dynamic platform for students to explore their academic and career interests in a fun, interactive environment. The event was a valuable chance to learn more about the diverse opportunities at AUT, and to connect with faculty, staff, and fellow prospective students.
With its success, the event underscored the university’s commitment to providing a comprehensive and engaging educational experience for students from all disciplines. We look forward to welcoming more talented and curious individuals into our community in the future.
