Mrs. Ghada Hinain, AUT President, signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) by with the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Beirut and Mount Lebanon (CCIB), former minister Mohamed Choucair, making AUT part of the initiative Youth Employment in Ports Around the Mediterranean (YEP MED).
This initiative, funded by the European Union, is carried out in many countries around the Mediterranean, and is intended to prepare young people to work in ports. It is led in Lebanon by the Beirut Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The signature ceremony took place on April 26, 2021, at the CCIB, and included the Beirut Port Authority, the Customs Directorate, the Syndicate of Shipping Companies, the Syndicate of Forwarders, and the Beirut Container Terminal Consortium (BCTC).
Training will be provided by the various parties associated with the program. For its part, AUT will provide training in port operations and management..
AUT was selected to join this program because of its expertise in teaching transport management and logistics, which it carries out with prestigious partners in Europe and the Arab world.
AUT President praised the YEP MED initiative and the CCIB for this program, and pledged full support.
