Several types of action will form the basis for the collaboration between AUT and the Federation of Municipalities of the Zgharta district that was formalized on August 10 through the signature of an MOU.
The Federation president Zeenni El Kheir and AUT VP for External Relations Marcel Hinain agreed that actions be implemented in the following areas:
1-Water Resources. Hinain pledged sustained action by the Water Resources Science of AUT in order to continually test the water quality of the two rivers that cross the district and that form the main water supply for the villages in the district. Spot checks om home water supply will also be conducted by the department and results will be communicated to the Federation
2-Small businesses. Workshops on social media marketing and content creation will be given by AUT to the Zgharta district families who wish to advertise their products online and gain access to a wider client base. This action is to allow small businesses which form the backbone of the Lebanese economy to survive and thrive during the current period
3-Scholarships: to be given to outstanding high school students recommended by the Federation on the basis of scores and also on sports achievements. High schools will be informed by the Federation of this opportunity
4-Special tuition fees for municipal staff and school staff in institutions under the Federation for graduate studies or Teaching Diplomas..
The MOU signature ceremony was held at the Federation premises in presence of municipal leaders, school officials and AUT North Campus director Bassem Bahkache and Admissions and PR senior officer Salim Ayoub.
